Lashing down for road transport in relation to the dynamic friction coefficients according to DIN EN 12195-1:2000

Lashing down instructions

  1. Find out the dynamic sliding friction coefficient µD (surface of supporting surface and load) from the table
  2. Enter the number of straps
  3. Tensioning device of lashing equipment is “one” as a rule
  4. Determine tension angle a using a protractor (see illustration “lashing down”)
  5. Enter load weight

As a result you get the pre-tensioning force that each part of your lashing equipment has to achieve.

Alternatively you can as a second step enter a “1”; then you get as a result the total pre-tensioning force needed that the lashing down has to apply on the load. You can then read from the table “lashing down”, how much of any Braun lashing system you would have to use.
